There are so many choices these days when it comes to lingerie. Two of the most favored being a corset and bustier. Both are similar in that they are form fitting, usually sleeveless, have removable garters, and can be worn both in the bedroom or for a night out on the town. So what’s the difference? Let’s start with corsets.
A bustier is defined as a woman’s close-fitting, sleeveless, strapless top, often elasticized, usually having boning or facing to give it shape. Bustiers are generally very form fitting and can be worn as both lingerie or evening wear. Most bustiers are sleeveless but some may have a shoulder strap and are either secured by a button or hook and eye closure. Bustiers are not made to hold you in or reduce your waist size. Some may have light-bonding, as mentioned before, that will help give you the added shape you are wanting. Because of their ability to stretch, bustiers are often favored since you can easily put them on and go. They are usually made of nicer fabrics such as satin, silk and lace. Bustiers, like most lingerie, can be hand washed in cold water or washed on a delicate cycle in the washer. Just be sure to read the label for directions before washing.
For many women, lingerie is about feeling sexy. Whether wearing for yourself or your partner, there are many of choices out there. The number one thing to remember is, sexy is an attitude. If you don’t feel sexy, you can’t be sexy.
