What is the Difference between a Corset & Bustier? SassyGirlLingerie.com
There are so many choices these days when it comes to lingerie. Two of the most favored being a corset and bustier. Both are similar in that they are form fitting, usually sleeveless, have removable garters, and can be worn both in the bedroom or for a night out on the town. So what’s the difference? Let’s start with corsets.
In the dictionary, a corset is defined as a close-fitting undergarment, stiffened with whalebone or similar material and often capable of being tightened by lacing, to shape and support the body. There are many different types of corsets available. The two main types are over-bust corsets, which goes over the breast, and under-bust corsets which are cupless and often called waist cinchers. Some corsets lace up the front, back or both while others have a hook and eye closure that helps you remove them easier. Corsets are sturdier than bustiers are help shape your body by holding everything in, making your waist seem smaller, while accenting your bust and hips. Some corsets are made more for style or show in that they have light-bonding. These corsets often are made of satin, silk or a lace material, not leaving much room for stretching. And may have plastic or nylon boning (reinforcements to the vertical seams). Just be sure to read the description when purchasing, so you can choose the correct size. Corsets should always be laced from the bottom to the top, allowing for you to tighten the laces gradually. When removing the corset, remember to loosen the laces before taking off to prevent tears, rips or straining the fabric.
A bustier is defined as a woman’s close-fitting, sleeveless, strapless top, often elasticized, usually having boning or facing to give it shape. Bustiers are generally very form fitting and can be worn as both lingerie or evening wear. Most bustiers are sleeveless but some may have a shoulder strap and are either secured by a button or hook and eye closure. Bustiers are not made to hold you in or reduce your waist size. Some may have light-bonding, as mentioned before, that will help give you the added shape you are wanting. Because of their ability to stretch, bustiers are often favored since you can easily put them on and go. They are usually made of nicer fabrics such as satin, silk and lace. Bustiers, like most lingerie, can be hand washed in cold water or washed on a delicate cycle in the washer. Just be sure to read the label for directions before washing.

How to Choose the Right Lingerie for your body type- SassyGirlLingerie.com
For many women, lingerie is about feeling sexy. Whether wearing for yourself or your partner, there are many of choices out there. The number one thing to remember is, sexy is an attitude. If you don’t feel sexy, you can’t be sexy.
First make sure you choose something you feel comfortable and sexy in. Not something you are going to worry about hiding under the covers or “sucking” it in all night.
Next, determine what type of figure you are and what types of lingerie pieces work best for your body type.
Are you a pear, ruler or an apple?
A pears figure is curvy, larger in the hips than in the tummy, and has a smaller top than bottom.
Pear shaped women should look for items such as flirty little chemise or babydolls that play down larger thighs. Sexy pieces that have rouching in the middle work great for breaking up the bust and hips, drawing attention to your waist, giving you that sexy pin-up look. Two piece sets also work great, such as sexy bras with matching boyshorts or skirts.
A rulers figure is very slim and petite.
Women with this figure should look for styles to add curves to their bodies, breaking up the “ruler” look. Corsets, bustiers, chemise and anything that pushes up your breast to give the dramatic curve look works great.
An apples figure is usually a bit thicker in the middle but has slim, tone legs.
Apple shaped women tend to want to hide their midsection, so babydolls or chemises, are your best bet. You can get low cut pieces to show off your breasts while covering up your midsection and still looking sexy. Corsets are also a great choice as long as they sit below the hip, giving you the longer look.
Remember when shopping for lingerie, there is that perfect piece for you!
You Just Need To Think SEXY!!
